Shirley Jean Day, age 75, of Fort Payne, passed away June 19, 2024. Mrs. Day was born in Fort Payne on July 21, 1948 to the late Ules Lester and Nell Waldron Smalley and was a retired auto detailer.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David McCarroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Head Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 11:00am until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Day is survived by her son, Steven Anderson of Virginia Beach; daughter, Stephanie Tallent (Eric) of Chattanooga; caretaker, Gary Brown; brothers, Charles Smalley, Andy Beason, and Larry Smalley; and sisters, Louise Cooper and Joyce Stalvey. She was preceded in death by her brother, Buddy and Bobby Smalley and sister, Linda Gregory.
