Shirley Inez Scrimsher, 87, of Athens, passed away Thursday, June 6th, 2024, at her residence. Mrs. Schrimsher was born on February 9th, 1937, to Wesley and Mary Lou (Martin) Davis.
Mrs. Schrimsher is survived by her daughters Kathy Harris (Dale), Wanda Odell (Larry), and Linda Putman (Lloyd); son Charles Eddie Edmondson (Donna); twelve grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sisters Delight Rogers and Mary Lee Davis; brother John Davis; sister-in-law Lutie Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by parents Wesley and Mary Lou Davis; sisters Myra Dean Flannigan and Betty Faye Hostettler; brothers Paul Davis, James Davis, and Billy Rowe Davis; and husband Alton Schrimsher.
Funeral service will be Monday, June 10th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at New Life Assembly of God, with Jason Parnell officiating. Visitation will be Monday, June 10th, from 11:00 to 12:45 p.m., at New Life. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Schrimsher loved flowers and gardening. She made clothes for her children when they were little. She loved the Lord and loved her church. When she got to where she couldn’t go, she would watch preaching on TV.
