Shirley Hawkins Waddell 79, of Somerville, Alabama joined our Lord in Heaven on March 29, 2025 with family by her side. She was born May 10, 1945 in Somerville, Alabama to David Mason and Ida Lou Hawkins.
She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was Co-Owner of Waddell Pools for almost 60 years and worked faithfully in the business until she retired 5 years ago. She drove a school bus for many years for Morgan County schools and she was active in many organizations over the years. She loved to travel and got to witness many of the places God prepared for us here on earth. The most important thing to her was her family and she loved us all more than words could say.
Shirley was survived by two sons, Steven Waddell and Larry Waddell both of Somerville, Alabama, two brothers, Tommy Hawkins (Rose) of Ft. Pierce, Florida and Johnny Hawkins of Priceville, Alabama, One sister, Nancy Hawkins of Somerville Alabama, Four Grandchildren, Misty Waddell (Lane), Cody Waddell, Gus Waddell and Marissa Waddell, 6 Great grandchildren, Brantley and Greyson Grantland, Waylon and Nyla Waddell and Lyla and Myles Waddell and all of her nephews and nieces.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Ida Lou Hawkins, two brothers, Jimmy Hawkins and David Ray Hawkins and one sister, Brenda May.
A visitation will be Thursday April 3, 2025 from 12:30-2:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 3:00 PM at New Friendship Baptist Church in Somerville, Alabama with Brother Ronald Manley officiating and Peck Funeral Home Directing. .
