Shirley Glass Lundgren , age 72, of Huntsville, AL passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at her residence in Huntsville, AL. She was a native of Appleton, TN, retired employee of Defense Contract Management Agency, and a member of Ramah Baptist Church.
Shirley Glass Lundgren , age 72, of Huntsville, AL passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at her residence in Huntsville, AL. She was a native of Appleton, TN, retired employee of Defense Contract Management Agency, and a member of Ramah Baptist Church.
Shirley grew up in Ramah, a quiet peaceful community located down Rabbit Trail Road about five miles south of Leoma, TN. The first settlers came to this part of Lawrence County from Alabama in the 1870’s. The land was smooth, rich and excellent for raising cotton and other crops. The first name of the community was “Pleasant Ridge”. In the year of 1911, a Baptist church was built and the name was changed to the biblical name of “Ramah”. Cercia Adair (Shirley’s Grandfather) operated a General Merchandise store in Ramah. Such communities were the basis of our American way of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Van and Martha Ann Adair Glass.
She is survived by

Brother – J.W. Glass and wife, Betty of Lawrenceburg, TN
Sister – Vicki Chapman of Pulaski, TN
One Nephew and Several Nieces
