April 22, 1942 – July 11, 2023 — Shirley Fay Britnell Bingham, age 81, of Russellville, passed away July 11, 2023, peacefully surrounded by her family at Huntsville Hospital following an auto accident.
Shirley was a lifelong resident of Russellville, AL. She was married to her loving husband, Paul, for 60 years. She spent most of her years as a homemaker and 20 years doing clerical work at B&M Builders Supply. She loved her family fiercely, especially her children, granddaughters and great-grandchildren. She was affectionately known as “MeMe,” which was her favorite title of all. Her favorite place was in her chair, rocking and singing to her babies. Her family will treasure her memories, and all will greatly miss her. She was the best Wife, Mom, MeMe, Sister and Friend.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Paul; son, Greg; granddaughters, Torey Behel (Barrett) and Sara Hill (Jacob); great-grandchildren, Jack, Stella, Henry, and Ruthie Behel; son-in-law, Kevin Clement (Gina); daughter-in-law, Linda Holcomb; brother-in-law, James Bingham (Bettye); sister-in-law, Janet Todd (Max); and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly “Kim” Bingham Clement; parents, Frank and Hazel Britnell; siblings, Harold Britnell, Kenneth Britnell, Betty Ruth Richardson, and Larry Britnell, and an infant sister.
The funeral service will be Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, with Richard Parker officiating. Visitation will be before the service from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Franklin Memory Gardens.
The pallbearers will be Barrett Behel, Jack Behel, Henry Behel, Jacob Hill, Kevin Clement, Gary Britnell, David Richardson, Jonathan Cooper, Andrew Cooper, Chris Cooper, and Brad Borden.
