āShirley embodies the attitude of a servantās heart,ā said Anna Duncan, community development manager for the American Cancer Society. āHer dedication to local cancer patients is unparalleled. Iām so thankful to not only have her as a volunteer but also as a friend.ā
“Mrs. Shirley has a heart full of grace, love and compassion. She has touched the lives of so many people by sharing her inspiring story, encouraging them to keep a positive attitude after a cancer diagnosis and by sharing her time and knowledge to make them Look Good, and Feel Better. Thank you, Shirley, for all that you do to improve the lives of cancer survivors!” ā Melody Delaney, Alliance Cancer Center
As Shirley went through her own cancer journey, the LGFB program meant a lot to her, giving her an opportunity to be with other cancer patients facing the scary diagnosis of cancer.Ā Shirley wanted to give back, encourage others as she was encouraged through the program and give hope.Ā She recalls sharing her story with women and seeing their faces light up because they saw hope.
