Shirley Ann Kellam Butler was born on February 14, 1949, in Tuscumbia, AL and ended her earthly journey on May 20, 2023.

She was a member of High Street Church of Christ.

Shirley graduated from Leighton Training School in 1966, after which she obtained Bachelor’s, Master’s, and A.A. degrees in Education from Alabama A&M University and enjoyed a long-time teaching career in the Tuscumbia City, Colbert County, and Lawrenceburg, TN School Systems.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Claude Sr. and Annie Kellam; sisters: Linda Freeman and infant Claudia; brothers: J.D., Walter, Clifton, Andrew, Bobby, Claude Jr., and infant James; and bonus children: Doris Reed, Bertha Reed, and Ronald Butler.

She is survived by her husband: Robert Butler; daughter: Britania (Larry) Butler; son: Carl Kellam; grandchildren: Taytyana (Jalan) Jones, Aziyah Harris, Britania Butler, Kane Butler, Jax James, and Brielle James; great grandchildren: Jiah Jones and Iva Jones; bonus children: Robert Butler, Jr. and Donald McGee, Sr.(Clarissa); sisters: Martha Morris of Tuscumbia, AL and Frances Bradshaw of Miami, FL; brothers: Adam (Vivian) of Compton, CA, Harry (Wilma) of Nashville, TN, John of Oklahoma City, OK, and Ralph of Florence, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, bonus grandchildren, cousins, and several very dear friends.
