Shirley Ann Davis Corder, 78, resident of Murfreesboro, died Monday, April 29, 2024 at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford.
A memorial service will be conducted Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.
Shirley was born on August 16, 1945 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to the late Gordon Shepard Davis and the late Annie Mai Knowis Davis. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Mrs. Corder was a retired secretary for Graymere Church of Christ and was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Corder; son, Jason (Angie) Corder; daughter, Lydia Corder Malugin; grandchildren, Will Malugin, Lilly Malugin, Jillian Malugin, Miller Malugin; nieces and nephews, Bobbie White and Bill Basenberg, Tommy and Shannon Davis, Johnny and Kathy Davis, David and Lisa Au, Mike and Jennifer Reese, Kenneth and Julie Jarratt; and cousins, Jo Ann Knowis, Alfred and Carol Haywood, and Norene Kelly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Davis; sister, Madeline Jarratt; and niece, Torrie Blackwood.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Vaughan, Judy Duncan, Ralph and Michelle Bastine, Joe and Judy Roberson, Jim and Terri Baker, Toby and Bettye Clark, Gloria Payne, Martha McDermott, Jewel Smith, and Randy and Nancy Cornwell.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to North Boulevard Meals on Wheels and to the Murfreesboro Fire Department and Ambulance Service.
The family suggest memorials be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Mrs. Corder
