Sherryl E. Adams, age 70 of Estill Springs, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Winchester. Sherryl was born on July 21, 1954, to the late Richard Horlis and Mary Elizabeth (Lacy) Elam. She was a 1972 graduate of McGavock High School and later attended Tennessee Career College. After college, she worked for Clover Bottom Developmental Center in Nashville, where she retired in the early 2000s. Sherryl accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mount Arat Missionary Baptist Church in South Nashville. She became a member at Claiborne Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral direction of Rev. Robert W. Finney Sr, where she sang in the adult choir and attended Sunday school and midweek services. Each morning, Sherryl enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee and was always ready to plan a trip. In her younger years, she loved playing a good game of spades. Sherryl looked forward to watching the next wrestling match, BET TV, or working crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ed Adams; siblings, Richard “Sonny” Elam, Robert Elam, Peggy Brown, Leroy Elam, Jerry Elam, Wayne Elam, Ronnie Elam, Charles Elam, and an infant sibling. Sherryl is survived by her sons, Gregory (Chanda E.) Southall and De’Andre (Leilani) Southall Sr.; grandchildren, Gregory “Bumpy” Southall Jr., Tyler Tucker, De’Andre Southall Jr., Asia Southall, Alana Southall, Madden Southall, and Andre Southall; great-grandson, Dre’Sian Southall and an extra great-grandchild on the way; and devoted niece, Angela Elam. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Watson Funeral Home with a memorial service following at 12:00 pm from the chapel of Watson Funeral Home.
