Graveside service for Sherry Lynn Vickery, age 50, of Decatur, will be Monday, May 4, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Brian McLaughlin officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. There will be a private family visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to graveside service.
Miss Vickery, who died Sunday, April 19, 2020, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born March 13, 1970, in Ansbach, Germany to Elmer Robert Vickery and Ursula Karin Christ Vickery. She was preceded in death by her mother.
She is survived by her father, Elmer Robert Vickery of Harvard, IL; one brother, Robert Allen Vickery (Kimberly) of Falkville; two sisters, Petra Mason (Jim) and Jutta Martina Compton (Robert “Bill”), both of Decatur; nephews/nieces, Brittany Compton-Tidwell (Stephen), Joshua Roper, Jennifer Hitt, Justin Compton, Megan Young, Dylan Ray Compton, Robert Fricks, and Rose Vickery; and great-nephews/-nieces, Kenzley Tidwell, Kristopher Tidwell, Kenadie Tidwell, Karsen Tidwell, Tyler Compton, Brandon Compton, Maddie Compton, and Makenna Compton.
Pallbearers will be Justin Compton, Dylan Compton, Stephen Tidwell, Bill Compton, Josh Roper, and Jim Mason.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Fairview Baptist Church Children’s Ministry, 4511 Danville Road, S.W., Decatur, AL 35603.
