It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sherry Denise Phillips on September 20, 2024, after a 12+ year battle with breast cancer.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 24 at 12:30 with funeral service to follow at 2:30.

Sherry was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry N. Chapin and Eloise C. McDonald, and Thomas A. and Ruby N. Phillips.

She is survived by her son, Jacob Morrow, and his father, Tim Morrow; parents, Steve and Sarah Phillips; brother, Stephen Phillips and his wife, Toni; and nieces Reagan and McKinley Phillips; as well as uncles, aunts and cousins.

Sherry knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was at peace and ready for her homecoming.

She was a 1992 graduate of Wilson High School; 1997 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Education; 2013 graduate of Birmingham School of Law with degree of Juris Doctorate and passed the State of Alabama Bar in 2013. She practiced law in Limestone County 2013-present. She was recipient of numerous awards during her law career.

Jacob was her world and she was very vocal about it. She bragged on Tim for being the great dad that he was, and for being such a good friend to her. Her nieces brought great joy to her life and she especially loved their “girl talks”.  Sherry loved her family deeper and felt that she hit the “jackpot” with them. Her wit and humor will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Mark Pitts, David Garner, Jaden Smith, Jason Brewer, Bill Phillips and Lance Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Phillips, Freddie Pitts and Philip Williams.

Thank you to Amedisys for their care and kindness in her final days. A special thank you to Vanderbilt Breast Center and Dr. Brent N. Rexer, as well as all of the other doctors, nurses and staff that cared for her. Thanks to all of our family and friends for all of the acts of kindness and your many prayers during her illness.
