Sherry Collins was born on January 25, 1947. After an extended battle with COPD, she passed away at her home surrounded by family members on December 27, 2023, around 12PM. She is survived by her son Matt Collins (Mary Collins). Grandchildren: Morgan Hallman (Denver Hallman), Madison Collins (Dylan Westmoreland), Jonah Collins (Cheyenne Collins), Hannah Collins. Great Grandchildren: Hensleigh, Lawson, Jo, and Blair. Siblings: Neal Tedford (Paulette Tedford), Pauline Leyland (Irving Leyland), Krystal Evans, Holly Dowdy (Terry Dowdy), Mark Tedford, Lee Tedford. Her lifelong friend Nancy Clark. Son in Law – James.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading her bible, and working in her flower beds. She was an employee of Pontotoc Post Office for many years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife.
She is preceded by her daughter Sheryl Ann and husband Jimmy, Parents, Jo & BJ Tedford, Brother Jack Tedford, Sister Mary Tedford. She was beloved by her family, children, and grandchildren.
She was a member of Troy 1st Baptist Church in Troy, Mississippi and was beloved by all who knew her. She had an evident relationship with her savior Jesus Christ and is most assuredly in a perfect place.
Her services will be held on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, at 11AM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Greg Herndon and Bro. Brock McWhirter officiating. Visitation will be Monday, January 1st 5-8PM and Tuesday, January 2nd 10AM until service time. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Joe Prater, Denver Hallman, Adam Dowdy, Scott Hester, Shad Hester, Austin Evans, and James Collins.
