Sherry Annette Bedingfield Pirtle age 76 of Athens passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mrs. Pirtle was born October 5, 1939 in Limestone County, AL to Verdie Bedingfield and Glynnis Cosby Bedingfield.
Services will be Friday, July 29, 2016 11:00 a.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Pat Lawrence, James Ray, David Pirtle and Chris Pirtle officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Pirtle retired from US Army Missile Command in 1995, and was a member of Bera Baptist Church in Athens.
Preceded in death by her parents, Verdie and Glynnis Bedingfield; husband, David Pirtle.
Survived by one daughter, Cheryl P. Turner and husband, Billy of Athens; one son, Gregg Pirtle and wife, Cathy of Athens; four grandchildren, David Turner and wife, Meggie of Athens, Aimee Davis and husband, Tyler of Nashville, TN, Caleb Pirtle and Baylee Pirtle both of Athens; two great-grandchildren, Lucas Turner and Griggs Turner both of Athens; one sister, Phyllis Bedingfield of Athens; three brothers, Doug Bedingfield and wife, Gloria of Chattanooga, TN, Bill Bedingfield and wife Nga of Atlanta, GA and Ronnie Bedingfield and wife, Linda of Trinity, AL; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Turner, Caleb Pirtle, Tyler Davis, John Hubbs, Chris Pirtle and Derek Pirtle.
