Shelva Hardy, 83, passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Visitation will be at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, October 15, from 1:30PM to 3:00PM. Celebration of Life will be at 3:00, also in the Chapel, with Rev. Neil Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Memorial Gardens.
Shelva was preceded in death by her parents, Huston and Reba Gipson; her husband, Phil Hardy; sisters Melba Peebles, Nancy Tolbert, Carolyn Jeffress, and Nadine Goodwin.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Hardy (DeAnne), and Ken Hardy (Rhonda); granddaughter Jayecara Hardy; sister, Patricia Moreland, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to express their thanks to all the caring staff at Enhabit Hospice and to all her caretakers during her long struggle.
Shelva had a giving heart of gold and was caregiver to so many in her family over many years. We will miss her so much; our lives will never be the same without her.
