Graveside service for Shelton Spain, 65, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Liberty Grove Baptist Cemetery, in Nauvoo, Alabama. Levi Sides will be officiating and Collins-Burke Funeral Home will be directing. Visitation will be at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Parlor on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m until 1:30 p.m.
Mr. Spain died on Friday, March 22, 2013, at his residence. He served in the Air Force and the National Guard. Mr. Spain is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Spain and Minnie Poore Spain; and grandparents, Joe and Myrtle Spain.
He is survived by his sister, Shirley Thornton (Roscoe), Nauvoo, AL.; brother, Daryle Spain; two nieces, Katie Bruce (John) and Nicole Spain; two great nieces, Darna Spain and Katelyn Bruce; one great nephew, Trooper Spain; two special friends, Linda Cabell and Doris Cabell; and grandparents, Lawyer and Lendy Poore.
