Shelia Kay Dill
She came into the world on November 4th, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Marjore Moore Johnson and David Venable. Tragically, she departed on November 7th, 2024, leaving behind a multitude of loved ones.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Garland Crabtree, niece Tiffany Crabtree, and heartbreakingly, her 19-year-old son, Justin Dooley.

Her legacy lives on through her daughter, Rachel (Junior) Fillmore, and her four grandchildren: Jaz (J.C.) Bryant, Storm Bryant, Jade (Brandon) Kaser, Audrey, Wyatt, Charlie, and Ellie. Many dear cousins, her niece Patty Crabtree and her children as well as her beloved Day’s Inn and Cullman Manor families, were left behind by her. She was truly one of a kind, with an adventurous spirit reflected in her tongue and eyebrow rings. Her tech savvy nature even rivaled that of the Geek Squad! It seems like everything was done to honor the memory of Justin. It’s truly devastating for a parent to have to bury a child, especially one so young. My mother carried the weight of Justin’s absence, which took a toll on her mentally, emotionally, and physically. She simply learned to cope and survive. Despite the tragic events of November 7, 2024, everyone who interacted with her mentioned that she was in high spirits. She enjoyed a meal at her favorite spot, the Busy B, and ended the day by embracing her son for the first time in 17 years.

A celebration of life will be next Sunday November 17th at 3:00 p.m. at the Smith Lake Church inside of the Park. With a pot luck after with her friends and family because she loved eating and fellowshipping with everyone.
