Photo of Shelby Armstrong Shelby Jene Robertson Patton Armstrong went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2025. Shelby was born on June 26, 1936 in Arley, Alabama to Marcena Newton “Marcenie” and Nancy Tamar “Tamer” Robertson. Shelby was a retired Home Health Aide, homemaker, and farmer. She loved the Lord, her people, dogs, feeding wild birds, growing flowers, gardening, and helping others. Shelby played Southern Gospel style piano, by ear, and enjoyed using her God given talents to bless others. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Smith School House Cemetery in Arley with Brother Ron Wooten officiating. Shelby is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Patton; sons, Richard Patton, Noel Armstrong; grandchildren, Bethany Patton, Susie Patton, Gabrielle Armstrong; great grandchildren, Willa Armstrong, and Donovan Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcena Newton “Marcenie” and Nancy Tamar “Tamer” Woodard Robertson. Shelby was passionate about caring for abused and unwanted dogs.
