Shelby Jean Epperson – Obituary

Shelby Jean Epperson passed away Aug. 11, 2012, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
She was born in the Pebble community April 8, 1936. Her parents were Marvin and Sallie (Hughes) Benford. She was one of 12 children.
She was a teacher for many years. She taught at Colbert Heights, Phil Campbell, Vina and Cerro Gordo in Tennessee. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, Jesus Christ, her family and friends and she loved life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Sallie Benford; her husbands, Jeff Robinson Jr. and Billy J. Epperson, and son, Rudy Epperson; brothers, Aaron Benford, Jerry Benford, Troy Benford; sisters, Jennie Abbott and Genoma Crisler.
Left to cherish her memories and love are her children, Angela (Don) Minor, Jeff (Ramona) Robinson, Tina (Ronald) Harris, Margo O’Fallon, Susie Heinrich, and Jennifer Epperson; her grandchildren, Andrea (Lance) McCullar, Melody (Wally) Miller, Jessica (Kenny McDonald), Carrie (Marcus) Dover, Kathryn Robinson, Griffin Harris, Cameron Harris, Shaun (Ashley) O’Fallon, Steve O’Fallon, Nathan (Brittney) Jumper, Whitney Skinner, Jared Skinner, Jessie W. Epperson; and 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Terry Benford, J.M. Benford; and sisters, Olive Berry, Sarah (Jackie) Nix, Jackie (Tommy) Hutcheson and Janice Anderson; nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Haleyville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Dr. Jim Cooley officiating. The body will be at the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, make memorials to First Baptist Church, 1103 21st St., Haleyville, AL 35565.
