Shelby Jean (Carter) Ayers, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at her home in New Market with complications from leukemia. She was born April 10, 1943, in Madison County, Alabama and was a 1961 graduate of Sparkman High.
Jean has been the owner an operator of Ayers Farm Farmers Market for over 50 years. She enjoyed her work and loved all her customers. She was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church in New Market, which will be her final resting place.
She is preceded in death by her husband Carey Ayers and her parents James and Sue Nell (Brazelton) Carter.
Jean is survived by her daughter Susan Ayers Kelley (New Market); her son and his wife Jason and Christa Ayers (New Market); one grandson
and his wife Jessy and Melanie Kelley (New Market); two great grandchildren Leighton and Livia Kelley, both of New Market; and a goddaughter
Debora (Lamb) Lepley (Harvest).
Visitation will be at Berryhill Funeral Home on Monday, November 25th from 4-7 p.m., with the funeral taking place Tuesday, November 26th at
11:00 a.m. with Brother Stan Mullins officiating.
