Mrs. Shelby Jean Akins Gilbert, age 82, of Sumiton passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 at Cordova Health and Rehab. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Morgan Cemetery. Ted Johnson will officiate. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Gilbert; parents, Marlin and Beatrice Akins; and brother, Bobby Akins.
She is survived by her son, Ricky Gilbert (Cindy); grandchildren, Nick Gilbert (Nikki) and Kelli Knowles (Corey): great grandchildren, Hannah Myers, Preslie Gilbert, Knox Knowles and Zoe Knowles; and a host of other relatives and friends.
