Sheila Kaye Layne, age 64, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Joe Tomlin officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Hargrove Cemetery in Spring Hill. A visitation will also be held on Monday from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 7, 1960, in Columbia, Tennessee, Sheila was the daughter of Vada & Ronald Richardson and the late Thomas Tomlin. Sheila found joy in shopping at thrift stores and Walmart and was known for her exceptional cooking, especially her famous peanut butter balls. She loved arts and crafts, scrapbooking, and creating wreaths. Above all, her family was her greatest treasure, and her grandchildren were the light of her life.
In addition to her mother and step father, she is survived by her daughters, Christy Anthony, Crystal (Ralph) Colyer of Murfreesboro, sisters, Penny Thompson of Columbia, Tina Tomlin of Columbia, grandchildren, Alexus Urquhart, Justus Aiden, Jayden Anthony, Jaimin Orrand, Nico Orrand, Jada Orrand, Carlie Colyer, Coltin Colyer, and Ralph Colyer, great grandchildren, Aiyden Urquhart, Emme Kaye, niece, Holly Thompson, and nephew, Robert Thompson.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Justin Layne.
Pallbearers will be Justus Aiden, Jayden Anthony, Robert Thompson, Ralph Colyer, Jaimin Orrand, Jamarious Dudley, John Tomlin, and Coltin Colyer.
