SHEFFIELD-The Sheffield Police Department issued a statement regarding a traffic fatality that took place on January 1:
“On 01-01-2023 at approximately 5:45 PM Sheffield Police Department responded to the area of 601 E 2nd Street in regard to a vehicle versus pedestrian motor vehicle crash.
When police units arrived Sheffield Fire Department was already on scene. The victim was transported by ambulance to Helen Keller Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The victim was identified as Francis Sharon Kuykendall 55, of Sheffield.
The driver that was involved remained on scene and was fully cooperative with law enforcement. No charges are expected to be filed but the accident remains under investigation. Please keep all parties involved in your thoughts and prayers.”
