Shawn Hudson Corum, age 5, from Victor, Idaho, passed away in a farming accident, Saturday, June 2, while visiting his family in Ethridge, TN. Hudson is survived by his parents, Brad and Carla Corum, his sister, Josie, maternal grandmother, JoCarolyn Hudson, and fraternal grandparents, Craig and Sonya Corum.
Hudson is also survived by his aunt, Leah (Rob) Remke, and uncles, Will (Linda) Hudson and Todd Corum, along with their children. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tom Hudson, and his uncle, Shawn Corum.
Hudson attended Miss Cathy’s School, where he had many friends, and was a member, along with his family, of the Church in the Tetons.
Describing this beautiful boy is always challenging to put into words. However, friends and family have often said, “He had a light in his smile” and “he could be everywhere at once”. His mother remembers that Hudson was “born fast – just like he lived”. And, his sister, Josie said, “He had goals. Last summer, he decided he wanted to climb the Grand Teton and, then, Mountain Everest. He would have done it”.
A memorial service was held on the family farm in Brace, Tn. Friends, who farm in the community, honored Hudson with a stream of tractors along the route to the service knowing how much he loved farm equipment.
Hudson’s parents, Brad and Carla have requested that any donations for Hudson be made to the Church of the Tetons, where the family attends in Idaho. A special memorial has been created in his name. The address is: Church in the Tetons, P.O. Box 1318, Driggs, ID 83422 or you can donate online: http://churchinthetetons.org/
The family wishes to publicly acknowledge members of the Ethridge Fire Department, Henryville Fire Department, Lawrenceburg Fire Department, New Prospect Fire Department, Crawfish Valley Fire Department, Lawrence County EMS, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Ethridge Police Department and Vanderbilt Life Flight. The courage, compassion and goodness shown that day will never be forgotten. Our families will always be connected.
