ATHENS-The Shoals-area band Sharpshooter will perform at the Listening Lounge at High Cotton Arts on Tuesday, May 16.
Athens Arts League sponsors the monthly event to provide free cultural opportunities for the community. AAL alternates between music and the spoken word each month. The event is from 6:30 p.m. to 8 a.m.
“Sharpshooter performed at High Cotton Arts during the Chocolate Walk, and we have had requests to bring them back for another performance,” said Athens Arts League Chairwoman Amy Golden. “We invite the community to enjoy this free concert and visit our artists’ booths to shop for local art.”
Lead singer Misty Frazier Frances, who used to record on an independent label, joined Sharpshooter in 1999. Randy Bunt plays bass and David Bunt plays guitar. The group performs country, blues and Southern rock.
High Cotton Arts is located at 103 West Washington Street in Downtown Athens. For more information about Athens Arts League and its events and programs, go online at www.athensartsleague.com.
