Sharon McBride Hodges, 76, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2023 at Huntsville hospital with her husband and her family by her side. She and her husband, Robert L. (Bob) Hodges were married for 46 years. Sharon supported Bob in his career as a lawyer and judge in Huntsville, Florence, and Scottsboro, where she immersed herself in the community and developed deep lasting friendships. Sharon and Bob enjoyed annual trips with friends and family to the Masters Golf Tournament and Sea Grove, Florida. She’ll always be remembered by her many nieces and nephews as a fun-loving aunt who was always ready for an adventure.
Sharon is a life-long member of the Church of Christ, growing up at Plainview and more recently as a member of Lakewood Church of Christ ( formerly Inner City) where she supported many community outreach projects.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Blanche McBride, and her brothers, Eugene and Leroy McBride.
She is survived by her husband and her children by marriage, Keith Hodges (Beth Donahey) and Cathy Hodges. She is also survived by her sisters Judy Deweese (Charles) and Pat Deweese, and several nieces and nephews along with extended family and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lakewood Church of Christ or Huntsville Meals on Wheels.
Visitation will be monday, May 8, 2023 at Berryhill Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Services will be Tuesday, may 9, 2023 at Berryhill Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, with Tim Boyett and Tim Smith officiating. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro.
