Sharleen Green, 75, of Arab, died Saturday, August 10, 2024, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born January 7, 1949, in Florence, Arizona, but grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She was one of six children of Henry Franklin and Velma Irene Jones. She was married to Larry Ray Green for nearly 50 years. He preceded her in death in 2015.
Sharleen was a loving wife, dedicated homemaker, selfless Mom, and doting Nana to her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with family, line dancing with friends, making pepper jelly, and visiting with her sister and best friend, Brenda “Aunt Sue” Gilbert. She also collected memorabilia of her favorite movie Gone with the Wind. A graduate of Wellston High School, Sharleen excelled at softball and loved to dance.
She is survived by two sons, Lionel Ray Green and Lance Raymond Green (Tina); daughter, Laura Renee Terry (David); five grandchildren, Chelsea Leigh Roper (Daniel), Lyndsey Rae Green (Hayley), Chase Wesley Ponder, Tyler Ray Ponder, and Heather Renee Terry; three great grandchildren, Baylie Rae Roper, Aubri Sway Roper, and Xavier Ray Terry; and a host of nieces and nephews.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements entrusted to Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice in Albertville.
