KNOXVILLE – Memorial Day Weekend marks the unofficial start of summer and what’s a better way to remember those special summertime moments on Tennessee Valley Authority lakes and recreation areas than with a great photo?
TVA is conducting a summer-long photo contest to encourage folks to get out and enjoy our region’s wonderful natural resources, and then share the fun through their favorite photos.
The contest begins this week and runs through Labor Day. Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries.
We’ve tried to make this as easy as possible, and free. After you take that great 
photo, tag it with#TVAsummer and post it to your personal Twitter or Instagram account. Or, you can upload the photo directly to TVA’s Facebook page.
There is a lot to do on TVA’s many lakes and recreation areas, from hiking, fishing, skiing and mountain biking to more relaxed activities like bird watching or just a quiet picnic. Whatever it is, take a photo and post it.
The contest runs from May 18 to Sept. 7, 2015. Prizes will be awarded as follows:
- First place: GoPro Hero4 Extreme Camera Kit
- Second place: Fitbit Surge Fitness Superwatch
- Third place: Eton Hand Turbine Rechargeable USB Battery Pack
