Sewell W. Gunn of Waynesboro, TN was born July 11, 1952 in Ripley, MS, the son of the late Henry Sewell and Zevie Sue Eubanks Gunn. Mr. Gunn died at his home Monday, May 21, 2018 at his home. Mr Gunn served in the U.S. Army for over 17 years and was a millwright at Strom Engineering Inc. He married Debra Jean Carroll May 30, 1980. They had made their home in Walnut, MS for several years and were members at Waynesboro Bible Center.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Jean Carroll Gunn, two sons, Michael Wayne Gunn and wife Melanie and Bobby Wayne Gunn and his wife, LaJinda all of Waynesboro, TN, 14 grandchildren, two sisters, Shelley Stanley and husband Terry of Golden, MS and Lisa Voyles of Ripley, MS. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gunn was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Gunn, two sisters, Nelda Burns and Marlene Gunn.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Robert Gobbell officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Skelton Cemetery near Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge. Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM and Saturday, from 8:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Bobby Gunn, Austin Gunn, Freddie Carroll, Cody Haddock, Kyl Hicks, and Cody Hicks.
