Funeral services for Mr. Scotty Cotney, age 56 of Ashland, will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Millerville Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Watts officiating. Burial will follow in the Millerville Community Cemetery.
Scotty was born in Alex City but spent his life in Clay County. He was well known for his musical talent and song and many places around the area.
He is survived by his two brothers, Steve(Jodi) Cotney of Millerville and Brad(Ashley) Cotney of Ashland; nieces and nephews, Amber Cotney, Paige(Chase) Scott, Ross Cotney, Ethan(Maddie) Cotney, Kinsley Cotney, Camdyn Presley, and Kaenyn Flores; his “grands”, Cash, Wren and Addie; other extended family and friends.
Mr. Cotney was preceded in death by his parents, Chester D. Cotney and Nancy Cotney.
Active pallbearers will be; Sam Royster, Thad Royster, Ethan Cotney, Ross Cotney, David Burkhalter and Chase Scott.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 11-1 at Millerville Baptist Church.
Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of the arrangements.
