20150729_0004 copyFLORENCE – It was a big day for the people who Scope 310 and the Arc of The Shoals serve. Theys held a march called, “Walk a mile in my shoes” to raise awareness for the need for more funding. This is part of a strategy by the public service organization to convince our State Legislature to maintain or increase the level of funding, which in the last few months has been put in jeopardy because of State budget cut plans. It is an “All Hand on Deck” effort.

The march along Pine Street involved volunteers,  agency workers, care givers and family members, and the people they serve. It was geared to raise awareness by the placing of shoes on the lawn of the offices of our local legislative delegation.

You may see our earlier story HERE.

The Quad Cities Daily was on hand to record the march in EVENT PHOTOS.  We present them here.

Steve and Sheri, We wouldn’t have to hold walks in sweltering weather if everyone supported people with disabilities as the two of you do. You are appreciated so very much!
