Schuyler “Sky” Elliott Redpath, 75, of Dellrose, TN passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 8, 1949, in Waukegan, IL, Sky was the son of the late
Charles and Genevieve Redpath.

Sky led a life of service, dedication, and love for his family. A proud veteran, Sky served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning numerous commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with a 60 Device, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal.

Sky was an exceptional athlete in his youth, a standout at Madison Academy in Huntsville, AL, where his love for sports flourished – a passion he later passed down to his children and grandchildren.
In his professional life, Sky was a hard-working businessman and a successful entrepreneur in the business forms and checking industry. His career was a testament to his tenacity and work ethic, qualities admired by all who knew him.

Throughout his life, Sky had a special place in his heart for animals. He cared deeply for the many dogs and cats who shared his home over the years, and his love for them brought him immense joy and comfort.

Sky was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Redpath; sons, Schuyler Redpath IV (Katie) of Madisonville, KY, and Trevor Redpath of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Genevieve “Jenny” Redpath of Crystal Beach, FL; and his brother, John Redpath. Sky cherished his role as a grandfather to seven grandchildren: Eli, Holt, Roscoe, Kelsey, Abner, Vida, and Chapel.

Sky will be honored with a family-member-only military funeral honors ceremony at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, a fitting tribute to a life of service and sacrifice.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a bereavement fund the children have set up for Sharon, who left her teaching position to care for Sky.
