MADISON COUNTY– Sheriff Blake Dorning of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office has released a statement regarding a scam involving the Madison County Sheriff’s Office:

“Sheriff Blake Dorning announced today that Deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office have been made aware that there is a scam in which suspects are making claims to be associated with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects are advising people by telephone that they have warrants and will be arrested if they do not get Kroger Money Services or other device to transfer money to them. The suspects are using the identity of Sheriff’s Office employees, so if you receive a call from someone claiming to be associated with the Sheriff’s Office requesting that you send money to pay fines or to avoid arrest, please DO NOT transfer money using any money services device, and contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately at 256-722-7181.”
