Saundra Jo Scott passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Sanctuary Hospice house after an extended illness. She was 78 years old. Born April 19, 1945 in Tupelo, she was the daughter of B.O. Brown and Josephine Simmons Brown. Not long after her high school graduation, she began working at BancorpSouth (now Cadence Bank), retiring with over 40 years of service. Saundra was a longtime member of Belden Baptist Church where she was active until her health began to decline. Her family remembers her sense of style and fashion, never leaving the house without her lipstick. A bit of a free spirit, Saundra had a blast riding the Harley with her husband, Lloyd. But her heart was for her family. She never missed a family gathering or special occasion, always looking forward to sharing laughs and memories.
Saundra leaves behind her husband of 26years, Lloyd Scott of Belden; her son, Eric Pissanos of the Furrs Community; four step-children, Leigh Jones (Bill) of Fulton, Terry Scott (Brenda) of Mooreville, Tom Scott (Jamie) of Birmingham, Alabama, and Lane Scott (Jennifer) of Pontotoc; a sister-in-law, Jane York (Dan) of Mooreville; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, B.O and Josephine Brown; her first husband, Butch Pissanos; and a grandson, Wayne Smith
