Sarah Rosetta Shann, a beloved soul, entered this world on May 11, 1926 in Wayne County, Tennessee. She was born to the loving parents Van Campbell Rasbury and Willie Florence (Brown) Rasbury. On Friday, February 2, 2024, Sarah peacefully passed away in a hospital Hendersonville, TN.
April 29, 1944 marked a joyous occasion as Sarah exchanged vows with her beloved Ostien Shann. Throughout her life, she held steadfast faith as a member of Topsy Church of Christ and dedicated her working years to Genesco in Wayne County before retiring. Sarah had an extraordinary gift of making everyone feel special; her kindness and warmth touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love, Sarah is survived by her daughter Elaine Helton and husband Herbert of Goodlettsville, TN; Grandchildren Tony Helton and wife Delisa of Murfreesboro, TN and Scott Helton and wife Angela of Smyrna, TN; Great Grandchildren Weston, Parker and his wife Shelby, Connor and his wife Mychaela, as well as Carson. She also leaves behind nieces Beverly Judkins, Janet (Mark) Baxter, Melanie Cross, Glenda Lindsey, Susan (Ken) Meadows, Faye (Jim) Byrd, Denicia (Todd) Roberts, Christie (Glenn) Johnson; Nephews, Jackie (Sherry) Turnbow, Terry Floyd along with a host of great nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.
Sarah is preceded in death by her parents Van Campbell Rasbury and Willie Florence (Brown) Rasbury; devoted husband Ostien Shann; daughter Betty Lou Shann; siblings Monetta Bullion, Van Brown Rasbury, Nadine Turnbow, Florene Gossett, Judy Ray; niece Benita Bullion; and nephew Don Bullion.
The visitation will take place at Shackelford of Waynesboro on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by another visitation on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will commence at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Jay Burkes officiating.
Sarah will be laid to rest in eternal peace at Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Waynesboro, TN.
