Sarah Jean Patton, age 87 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Rogersville, Alabama on April 6, 1937. She was a dedicated homemaker where she raised her family in Sewanee and later moved to Winchester to be near her siblings and her church family. She enjoyed working with her flowers and projects around the house. When she was able, she loved to travel and always looked her best. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family. A devoted member of Kingdom Hall, Sarah Jean was very strong in her faith and was active in the service field. She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Fuqua Hill; husband, John Patton Sr; and siblings, Mary Cliff, Joe Hill, and Sammy Davis. Sarah Jean is survived by her children, John W. (Iris) Patton Jr, Evelyn Patton, Jeffery (Jenita) Patton, Kathy M. (Richard) Gilliam, and Robert L. (Roxanne) Patton; siblings, Barbara (Mike) Blackwell, Gladys Stovall, Alice Davis, John (Gale) Hill, and Juliette L. Taylor; grandchildren, John Patton III, Ashely Patton McFall, Justin Gilliam, Tiffany Gilliam, Briana Trulick, Jaylon Patton, Jeffery Patton, Jeremy Patton, Andrea Taylor, Chasity Patton, Gehrig Jackson, Dedrick Middlebrook, and Ortega Elam; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11am-12pm on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 pm in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson Funeral Home with Pastor John Patton, Jr. officiating and Eulogizing. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
