Sarah Jane Foster Boozer – Obituary

sarah-jane-boozer-1479479805Sarah Jane Foster Boozer, age 88 of Tuscumbia, died Thursday, November 17, 2016. Her funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia with Anthony Briggs officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

Mrs. Boozer was a lifelong resident of Colbert County. She was proud of her home and her family and was committed to both as long as she lived. She was retired after thirty-three years as a teacher in Colbert County and was a member of Tuscumbia 4th Street Church of Christ. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughter of American Colonists. She had a big impact on a lot of people as a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Guy Boozer Sr.; parents, Owen and Alma Counts Foster; brother, W. O. Foster; and sisters, Elizabeth Foster, Mary Frances Mitchell, Alma Alexander, Margaret Evans, and Carolyn Cahoon.

She is survived by her son, Jewel Guy Boozer Jr., and: brother, George Foster Sr., grandchildren; Katherine Jewel Boozer, Matthew Persons Boozer and Andrew Charles Boozer.

Pallbearers are James Cahoon III, Trent Cahoon, Dustin Cahoon, Owen Daniel Foster, Richard Foster and Tim Foster.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tuscumbia Church of Christ or the local chapter of United Daughters of the Confederacy.
