Sarah Faye Lowery, 84, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, AL. She was born in Red Bay, AL, to Glen and Villie Malone. Sarah graduated from Red Bay High School in 1957 and attended Auburn University, receiving her degree in Education in 1960. She taught school in Auburn, San Antonio, TX, and Lawrenceburg, TN. After helping establish a veterinary office and working in Lawrenceburg, she spent 20 years in sales for Frito-Lay. After retiring, Sarah made her home in Florence. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ.
For many years, Sarah enjoyed spending her time at the barn and showing her Tennessee Walking horses. She also enjoyed all sporting events, especially if Auburn was playing. Sarah loved flowers, cooking, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed attending her grandson Anderson’s band concerts and competitions and grandson Morgan’s baseball games, only missing one game in the entire time he played from ages 5-24.
She is survived by two daughters, Faye Wilson of Mexico Beach, FL; Pat Lowery (Johnny) of Foley, AL; one sister, Dale Bonds (Thomas) of Tupelo, MS; brother-in-law, Tommy Cox; her grandsons, Anderson Renaud (Brittani) of Dothan, AL; Morgan Wilson (Brooke) of Lexington, AL; two great-grandsons, Brett and Barrett Renaud and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Peggy Cox; and two brothers, Jack W. Malone and Dr. John L. Malone.
Cason Funeral Home in Foley will handle her cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. at Sweetwater Depot, 502 S. Royal Ave., Florence, AL. Burial will be in Franklin County, AL.
