Sarah Elizabeth Ray Gaines, age 85, of Huntsville, AL, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 at her home on Titus Drive. Sarah was a lifetime resident of Huntsville, AL where she moved shortly after being born in Franklin, TN on September 15, 1933. She retired from Huntsville Utilities in 1995 after 27 years of service. Sarah was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Virginia Ray, and her siblings, William Edgar Ray, Marjorie Ray Jones, and Martha Ray McCrary.
She is survived by her sons David Michael (Tammy) and Christopher Shawn, grandsons Benjamin Ward and Joseph Michael, sisters Ann Rayhttp://www.valhallafunerals.com Cothren and Joyce Ray Medley, and brother Tommy Ray, and many, many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Road in Huntsville, AL. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 27. Funeral services will be conducted at Valhalla Funeral Home on Friday, June 28 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Terrell Boyd officiating.
