Sarah Elizabeth Parsons Hobbs passed away peacefully early on the morning of July 17, 2024. She has battled cancer and other health issues for several years. She was 92.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Kevin Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park, beside her husband, Billy Boone Hobbs, who preceded her in passing away in 2016.
Mrs. Hobbs is survived by two sons and a daughter: William Hobbs of Johnson City, TN; Joel Hobbs of Matthews, NC; and Laura Hobbs of Huntsville, AL. She is survived also by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hobbs has recently been living in Matthews, NC where she moved to be near family and to receive care. She dearly loved her church family at First Baptist Church of Florence and maintained a relationship with her church family until her death.
There may be many that remember Mrs. Hobbs as the “Welcome Wagon Lady”, a business she ran in welcoming new families to the city of Florence.
