Albertville Funeral Home Downtown announces the death of Sarah Elizabeth Hancock Holmes, 82, of Oneonta, AL who passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Albertville Funeral Home Downtown Chapel with burial to follow in Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery at Snead. Danny Skillman will officiate. Pallbearers will be Phillip Cleveland, Jeffrey Cain, Joe Stewart, Kevin, Hensly, Avery Dobbs, Jeremy Dobbs. The family will visit with friends Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Albertville Funeral Home Downtown Chapel. Preceded in death by her mother, Martha Hasten Hancock, father, Frank Hancock, husband, Thearon Holmes, son, Alvin Holmes, sister, Gladys Mason, brothers, Bill Hancock, Robert Hancock, Rayford Hancock, Junior Hancock, grandchildren, Jessica Holmes, Michael Estes. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Harris (Wayne), Carolyn Skillman, Donna Estes, sons, Bobby Holmes, Alton “Pug” Holmes (Wanda), Jeffrey Holmes, sisters, Margaret Abbot (Kenneth), Lois Mason, Sue Williams, brother, Roy Hancock, grandchildren, James Cain, Sharon Holmes, Sherry Stewart, Robin Estes, Erica Walker, Carmen Mick, Nicole Powell, Sheena Alexander, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
