Sarah Elizabeth Ashby, age 88 of Decherd, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on February 18, 1932 to the late Hubert Thomas and Ruby Florence (Sisk) Anderson. Before her retirement, Sarah was employed by Middle Tennessee Home Health. After retiring, she went back to work as a receptionist for the Salvation Army. When she was younger, she attended White Oak Grove Church of God. Sarah enjoyed planting flowers and working in the garden. The life of the party, when the music played she was dancing. But most of all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Paul Anderson, Lida Boswell, and Marion Anderson; and grandson, Kenny White. Sarah is survived by her loving children, Larry (Christine) White of California, and Melissa Metcalfe (Robert Prince) of Decherd; grandchildren, DeAnne (Bob) Will of New York, Jordan Metcalfe of Decherd, Taylor Metcalfe (Kevin Baird) of Decherd, and Jacob Sisk of Winchester; and great-grandchildren, Avery, Harper, Henry, Kevin Jr, and Malcolm. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel.
