Mrs. Sarah Dean McDaniel, age 79, of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at her residence.
Mrs. McDaniel was born April 20, 1945, in Vernon, AL, to the late Aubrey and Margie Brown Hall. She was a longtime faithful member of Springfield Free Will Baptist Church, and owned the Kountry Kitchen Restaurant where she was known for her home style cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jimmy McDaniel; her son, James Gordon McDaniel; three angle children; two brothers-in-law, Ted McDaniel and Johnny Boone; and one nephew, Aubrey Gibson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 16, at 11:00 AM, at the Springfield Free Will Baptist Church, with Gary Seay and John Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 at the church prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Byron McDaniel, Daniel Fondren, Paul Hopper, Joe Paul Hopper, Charlie Gallop, Ricky McGee, Marcus Brown, and John Ross Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Gibson, David Myhan, Houston Myhan, Bruce Fondren, Tim Brown, Robert Dale McGee, Ronnie Brown, Joe Edward Hollis, and Redus Lee Hall.
Survivors include two daughters, Melissa McDaniel and Michelle (Kevin) Phillips; two grandsons, Jon Dylan McDaniel and Alex Smith; two sisters, Joyce (Carroll) Gibson and Wanda Boone; two sisters-in-law, Debbie (Tommy) Fondren and Jackie McDaniel; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
