Sarah Ann Greer Woodbury Carson, 69, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Her final moments were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Sarah was born on February 10, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan. The family then moved to the Huntsville area where she graduated from Grissom High School and furthered her schooling at Drake State for her nursing degree where she worked for over 30 years before retiring.
Sarah was known for being kind, loving, compassionate, and for her nurturing traits. She would always do for others before herself. Sarah was a member of the Hallmark Club and worked part time at Bama Fever just to have something to keep her busy. Sarah loved spending time with family and friends, being outside working in her yard and planting flowers, and going to watch Alabama football with some of her close friends. Sarah’s life was well-lived, and she was well-loved by all. She will be missed by all who knew her. Sarah’s family ask that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life and not the sadness of her passing.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Joyce Marie Greer, and her husband, Timothy Hugh Carson. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Sharp (Kevin); son, Thomas Woodbury (Shannon); three grandchildren, Dustin Sharp (Ivey Grace), Rebecca Pinder (Chase), and Cody Sharp; great-grandchild, Alda West Sharp; sister, Vickie Sauer (Don); brother, Mike Greer; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved pet, Max.
The family will have a celebration of life from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The family will have a burial later.
Monetary donations, flowers, and memorial gifts are welcome but not necessary.
