A Celebration of Life and Legacy for Ms. Sara Mae McDaniel, 71 of Decatur will be noon, Wednesday at Macedonia Cumberland Church in America with The Reverend Equator Black officiating and inhumation to follow in Lindsey Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public Viewing will be Monday from 2-7 and Tuesday from 10-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Ms. Sara Mae McDaniel was born July 11, 1943 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Annie Lee Williams and Richard McDaniel. She departed this life at Decatur Morgan Hospital-DG Campus at 7:00 am on December 10, 2014.
Sara accepted Christ at an early age and was currently a member of United Christian Bible Church under the leadership of Pastor Equator Black.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Annie Williams and Richard McDaniel; three brothers, James Williams, Thomas McDaniel and Billy Ray Porter; and one sister, Nettie L. Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory: five children, Joe N. McDaniel (Freda) of Decatur, Ann M. McDaniel of Tuscaloosa, Beverly A. McDaniel, LaShonda McDaniel and ReShonda (Marcus) McCullough all of Decatur; five sisters, Annie Nell, Emma and Hattie Williams all of Decatur, Clara O’Koye of Cleveland, OH and Cindy McDaniel Tulloch of Decatur; two brothers, Jimmy Williams of Moulton, Prentice Orr of Decatur; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Flower bearers and Pallbearers will be family and friends.
