Sara Louise Smith, 88, passed away on November 18, 2024 at her home in Mantachie. Sara was born to John Frost and Maude Inez Wilder on August 27, 1936 in Pontotoc, Mississippi. Sara enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved tending to her flowers and family, and her loving dog, Muffin.

Sara is survived by her daughters, Deborah Grisham (Jammie) of Baldwyn, Judy Pilkington (Kenneth) of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Tammy Wilson of Mantachie and Patti Brown of Guntown; two sons, James Michael Smith of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Chuck Smith (Christina) of Saltillo; sister, Edith McKissack; sister-in-law, Bobbi Frost; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Peggy Strickland.

Sara is preceded in death by her parents, John and Maude Frost; husband of 54 years, James Arlen Smith; sisters, Pebble Ewing and Wilma Collier; brother, Rufus Frost; son, Jimmy Smith; great-granddaughter, Bayley Farris; and son-in-law, Roy Brown.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the Pegues, Saltillo.

Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Saltillo Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Hatfield and Bradley Benson officiating. Graveside services will follow at Longview Cemetery in Pontotoc

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tim Brown, Cody Wilson, Ethan Wallace, Taylor Smith, Josh Smith, Ben Wallace, Corey Matthews, Christopher Brown and Doug Wallace.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Caleb Brown, Clayton Matthews, James Wallace, Jack Wallace, Cameron Thompson, Landon Farris, Drew Pettigo, Tyson Brown, Kipp Wallace, Davis Matthews and Max Benson.
