Sara Leverne Burns Rich of New Market passed away April 30 at the age of 85. She was a native of Etowah County, Ala., and a resident of Madison County since 1975. Sara was a mother, grandmother and caring friend to all.
She was a graduate of Holy Name of Jesus Nursing School and served as a Registered Nurse in health care facilities from Huntsville to Mobile. She retired as administrator of NHE nursing home in Huntsville
She is survived by her husband, Bobby R. Rich of New Market; children, David (Lisa) and Gregory (Tina) of Huntsville, Michael of Montgomery and Rhonda Cina (Mark) of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; special daughter Diane Oetting of Montgomery; brother Jerry Burns (Trina) of Hokes Bluff, Ala.; grandchildren Jeremy (Danielle), Ryan (Zoe) and Cheyenne Rich of Madison Co., and Courtney Cilbulsky (Mike) of Charleston, SC.; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Zada Bullock Burns; sister Betty Tommie; and brothers Robert, Johnny, Jimmy and Jackie Burns.
The family is grateful for the care of the staff of Huntsville Hospital Hospice, the nurses of the hospital’s seventh floor, and Dr. Katragadda and Shan.
