Sara Lee (Bishop) Moore of Ford City, AL left this earth to her Heavenly home on May 16,2024 at the age of 85. Surrounded by loved ones. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19,2024 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Colbert Memorial Chapel with a service to follow at 2 pm in the chapel. Pastor Casey Hagle will be officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Sara Lee was born on March 10, 1939 to L.E. and Barbara Bishop in Ware Shoals, SC. She married the love of her life, Rayburn Moore, in July of 1956, and they shared the rest of their days happily together. Sara dedicated her life to selflessly loving others and sharing the light of Jesus to all around her. Her laughter was contagious and she has been described as full of joy and kindness. She was a light in the darkness to many.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Rayburn Moore; brother, James Bishop; sister, Mary Ellen Bishop Phipps.
She is survived by her sisters, Malinda Chalmers (Charlie) and Jane Nevitt (Steve); children, Greg Moore (Derenda) and Karen Mitchell (Alan); grandchildren, Carissa McDougal (Josh), Christy Anders (Josh), Brittney Ernst (Dave), Melissa Godsey (Seth), and Caleb Moore (Allie); great grandchildren, Jaxtin Adalynn, Finley, Rhett, Maddox, River, and Emma, and an abundance of loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Josh McDougal, Josh Anders, Dave Ernst, Seth Godsey, Caleb Moore, and CJ Scott. Honorary pallbearers are Gavin Scott, Connor Scott, and Bently Scott.
The family would like to offer their deepest gratitude to the Scott family and all of Sara’s caregivers, who lovingly cared for her the past seven years. Thank you for loving her as we do.
