Sara Katherine Duncan Parks, 69, died Saturday, January 29, 2023 at Novant Health in Huntersville, North Carolina.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jeremy Butt and Tom Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Born July 30, 1953 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Moore Duncan and the late Sarah Collins Rieves Duncan. Ms. Parks was a precious mother, sister, aunt, true friend, child of the Living God, and PhD Chemistry Professor. She enjoyed gardening, painting, drawing pet portraits, traveling, caring for her two pups and two “grand-pups”.
Survivors include her daughter, Angie (Paul) Carpenter of Denver, North Carolina; brother, Tommy (Carolyn) Duncan of Columbia; several nieces and nephews; and dear friend and love her life, Mark Coduto.
Active pallbearers will be Mark Coduto, Paul Carpenter, Carl Ingram, Stan Smith, Robert Eaton, and Wayne Hitchcock.
