Celebration of life services at graveside for Sara Harris Pannell, 101, are set for Friday at 1:00 pm at Henry Cemetery.
Mask and social distancing guidelines will be in place.

Sara passed away peacefully at Country Cottage on December 7th 2020. She was married to the late Pete Pannell and together they enjoyed restoring homes in the downtown area, three of which are on Fillmore Street. Sara was an avid gardener and passionate about her yard, doing most of the work herself earning her Yard of the Month numerous times for the 3 homes on Fillmore Street she and Pete restored.

A member of Waldron Street Christian Church for over 70 years, she enjoyed being a member of the building committee to oversee the renovating, restoring and decorating of the historic church. Sara also loved working at the First United Methodist Preschool where the children there affectionately called her Mimi.

Sara’s greatest love was her family who also called her Mimi. She is survived by two daughters, Judy Mattox (Ladron) and Suzy Marlar (Vic) all of Corinth, eleven grandchildren, Rich Marlar (Lyndsey) of Asheville, North Carolina, Robb Marlar of Tupelo, Jay Patrick Marlar of Nashville, TN, Mike Mattox ( Amanda) of Booneville, Brad Mattox (Teri), Jennifer Orman(John) all of Corinth, Sarah Holt (Lee) of Nesbitt, Katie Weir (Matthew) of Athens, AL, Michelle Pannell Bell (Chris) Valerie Pannell Johnson, all of Tupelo and Robin Pannell Buttry of Bentonville, AR; eighteen great grandchildren and many caring, loving caregivers.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pete and a son, Bob Pannell.
