Sara Eva Wunner Stutts, age 90, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025, at her residence. She was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, a retired seamstress at Kay Windsor, and a member of Flatwoods Freewill Baptist Church. Sara was a caring and loving mother and grandmother; she was so dearly loved by her family. She loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved caring for her flowers and birds, gardening and taking care of animals. She spent a lot of time sewing for her family, quilting, crocheting, and canning. She loved cooking for her family gatherings and any time spent with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Orville Stutts; her parents, Anthony Carl Wunner Sr. and Willie Gertrude Chambers Wunner; one great-grandchild, Eli Jerret Flatt; two sisters, Marie Brian and Rosie Wunner; and six brothers, James Wunner, Carl Wunner Jr., Frank Wunner, Joe Wunner, Charlie Wunner, and Bobby Wunner.
She is survived by one son, Roger Stutts of Lawrenceburg, TN; two daughters, Regina Kerstiens and Glenda Stutts of Lawrenceburg, TN; five grandchildren, Barrett Stutts, Brynn Flatt of Lawrenceburg, TN, Andrew Kerstiens of Nashville, TN, Alicia Townsend (B.J.) of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Matthew Kerstiens (Angel) of Lawrenceburg, TN; ten great-grandchildren, Skylar, Bella, Ally, Tucker, Tanner, Rylee, Cali, Emma, Gideon, and Corbin; one great-great grandchild, Brynleigh Mae Bradford; one sister, Polly Bowden of Lawrenceburg, TN; and one sister-in-law, Margaret Wunner of Lawrenceburg, TN
Those serving as pallbearers, Barrett Stutts, Andrew Kerstiens, Matthew Kerstiens, Tucker Flatt, B.J. Townsend, and Opie Gray.
The family would like to thank Sonya, Molly, Lynn, Chasity, and all those with Compassus Hospice for taking such great and loving care of their mother.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Kidd Cemetery at 1:30 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2025, with Tracy Adams officiating. The family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Children’s Hospital, or DAV.
